Apple was the first mover in terms of touchscreens in terms of mobile phones but now Apple is adding touchscreens to its mac. IPhone created a market of its own that no one was willing to enter before apple, blackberries and Nokia phones only lost their gigantic share in the mobile phone industry because they did not move fast, apple saw the vacuum and introduced iPhones in 2007, which turned out to be massively popular and profitable.
Most experts say that other than the fatiguing nonsense, apple not introducing its own touch screen has a lot to do with numbers, according to a CNBC report ;
Apple’s Mac business generated $40.1 billion in revenue during the company’s fiscal 2022, up 14% from 2021.

So experts speculate that apple doesn’t want to disturb an already well-functioning product, but if we look back, before iPhone and touch screens blackberry was trading at $150 a share and was the most valuable company on the Toronto stock exchange,
As the 21st century came around, Nokia continued to thrive. Its share price traded through $50 in 2000 as it remained ahead of its rivals. In 2003 it introduced the Nokia 1100, which remains the world’s best-selling phone, with over 250 million sold.
These companies were doing perfectly fine until Apple showed up and replaced them to become the market leaders with their cutting-edge technology.
So is it wise for Apple to make the mistake others made again and lose the market leader position by not introducing a superior product and sticking with what’s working, skeptics say NO and so does the Bloomberg report that says that apple is coming up with its own touch screen MacBooks till 2025?
TOUCH SCREENS IN LAPTOPS
Touch screens are being introduced in the market by many well-known brands right now, Lenovo has introduced Legion Slim 7i Gen 7 16″ Intel, legion 5i Pro Gen 7 16″ Intel, Legion 5 Gen 7 15″ AMD. HP has ENVY x360 Convert 15.6″ touch screen, Windows 11 Home, AMD Ryzen™ 5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, FHD. and so on, but so far nothing like that has been introduced by Apple in its MacBook series.
WHY APPLE HAS NOT INTRODUCED ITS TOUCHSCREEN MODEL IN MACBOOKS?
“We really feel that the ergonomics of using a Mac are that your hands are rested on a surface and that lifting your arm up to poke a screen is a pretty fatiguing thing to do,” Apple’s head of software Craig Federighi said in 2018, adding that he’s “not into touchscreens” on PCs.
The above statement is very much self-explanatory that why apple, which itself was the pioneer in implementing touch screen and bringing a revolution in the smartphone space is shying away from the touch screen industry, knowing well enough that the touch screen is the future and has always appealed to users in comparison with traditional keypads.
